I was born in Montréal, Québec in 1954 and grew up in various places across Canada and in Germany, settling in Ottawa in 1973. I am married to Brenda, have a cat named Aoife & like planting things, cooking and fly-fishing.

I’ve been working full time as an artist since 1974 and exhibiting professionally since 1975.

In addition to my painting I have been active in the cultural scene, serving on a number of boards and committees at the community, provincial & national level. I teach painting and drawing at the Ottawa School of Art, and have contributed art criticism and other writings to a number of publications.

When time and season permit I can be found loitering in and around trout streams and other fishy places.
